Tell Your Fat to Chill Out This Hot Summer
- Posted on: Aug 15 2017
This has been a hot summer along the Wasatch Front and in Park City. Too bad your unwanted pockets of fat don’t just melt away with the triple-digit heat!
When the temperatures are this high, everyone is always thinking of cooling off. Maybe you should tell your unwanted fat the same thing — cool off and beat it with CoolSculpting at Spa Vitoria.
Unwanted fat is like your sister’s obnoxious, stubborn two-year-old, rolling around on the floor of the candy aisle at Smith’s because he didn’t get the mega-sized Hersey bar he demanded. Unwanted fat is stubborn like that. You eat right, you exercise, but the fat just keeps on keeping on. You want to get rid of it, but you’re not keen on having an invasive procedure such as liposuction.
What to do? As you should do with the screaming two-year-old, you should give the fat the cold shoulder. For the fat that means CoolSculpting at Spa Vitoria.
What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting kills fat cells through controlled freezing. It’s the only procedure that does that, and it doesn’t involve any surgery. Worldwide over 2 million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed. That’s a lot of fat cells frozen and dispatched!
Two Harvard scientists discovered the process that is now CoolSculpting. They were researching how cold from eating popsicles may have affected the development of dimples in some children. They found out that the popsicles had killed some of the fat cells, making the area leaner and creating dimples. It didn’t take much of a stretch to go from children’s cheeks to adults’ abdomens and CoolSculpting.
CoolSculpting works because fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than the surrounding tissue cells. Kind of like the bridge vs. road freezing point on the sweeping curve of east I-215! When the CoolSculpting freezing paddles are applied to the target areas, they deliver precisely controlled freezing into the tissue below. These temperatures only freeze the fat cells, leaving the adjacent tissues undamaged. Fat cells are crystallized and gradually die off. As with any dead cells, the body removes them from the body through the lymphatic system.
How much fat does CoolSculpting put in a deep freeze?
Research shows that patients experience a 20% reduction in fat in the treatment areas. Because most people have more than one area they seek to target, most of our CoolSculpting patients opt to have six to eight treatment sessions. Each session lasts around one hour, and patients can read or watch a movie on their laptop while the treatment is ongoing. If you opt to have an area treated a second time with us, however, be aware that the level of fat reduction is less than during the first treatment.
Where can I have CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting can be used all over the body. The usual target areas are the upper thighs, love handles, lower stomach, bra line, behind the knees, and under the chin.
So, tell your fat to chill out this hot Utah summer with CoolSculpting at Spa Vitoria. Call either our Park City or Salt Lake City offices to make an appointment.
