Dr. Saltz chief case was a body contouring patient that involved abdominoplasty and liposuction. Here, Dr. Saltz learned that abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as tummy tuck, is India’s most popular cosmetic procedure.

saltz-india-3The extreme popularity of this procedure is unique to India and is most likely due to the clothing women wear. Called a sari, this traditional Indian clothing worn by women exposes the belly region. As is the case for women anywhere in the world, pregnancy, weight loss, and age can cause women to lose their proportional, flat belly and can lead to excess, sagging skin. And just like it is for women elsewhere, this can be embarrassing to have exposed.

Abdominoplasty and liposuction can help women achieve a flatter stomach by eliminating the loose skin, tightening the abdominal muscles, and getting rid of any stubborn pockets of fat. Having years of experience performing the procedure, Dr. Saltz’ was able to share his expertise with plastic surgeons in India to help advance plastic surgery in the country even further.
