Tell Your Cellulite You’re Breaking Up with Cellfina™

If you’re a woman, odds are you know, and detest, the dimpling that occurs on your thighs and backside — cellulite. It affects over 90% of women and can be a bane even if you’re incredibly fit. What’s equally frustrating is that there seems to be nothing you can do about it! There have been many creams, salves, and procedures that claim to reverse the formation of cellulite, but they don’t work.

But now Saltz Plastic Surgery is happy to announce that we offer Cellfina™, the newest procedure that actually improves the appearance of cellulite for at least two years! Don’t believe it? Cellfina™ is FDA approved!

What is Cellfina™?

The Cellfina™ System is a non-invasive procedure that actually treats the root cause of cellulite, the connective bands under a woman’s skin. The procedure smoothes away cellulite dimples and gives you back the confidence to wear swimsuits and short shorts again!

Why do women have cellulite and not men?

It comes down to anatomy, really. Women have more body fat than men, but the main reason for a woman’s dimply thighs are the bands that connect the skin and muscle. Men have thicker bands, more of them, and they form a crisscross pattern. This keeps the fat in place and it doesn’t pucker.

In contrast, women have vertical connective bands that trap fat in pockets. At the spots of the connective bands, the skin is pulled down while fat pushes up around it. The result is dimpling on the thighs and buttocks.

How does Cellfina work?

In the procedure, Dr. Saltz first identifies the dimples to be targeted. Then the area of the skin is treated with topical anesthetic. Next, the Cellfina™ System uses a suction stablizer to pull the skin taut and stretch the cellulite-causing connective bands. The Cellfina™ System uses a special handpiece that then releases the bands. This technology that breaks the connective bands is proprietary. Once the connective bands are released the skin bounces back upwards, no longer pulled down selectively by the bands.

How long will it be before I see results?

Results show themselves in as little as three days, as the skin calms down. From there, studies have shown long-term patient satisfaction, 85% at three months, 94% at one year, and 96% at two years. The Cellfina results just keep getting better!

How long does a Cellfina session take?

Depending on the size of the area being treated, most Cellfina sessions in our office have been taking less than one hour. And patients experience nothing more than some initial soreness and tenderness at the treatment sites, but this passes quickly.
