Dr. Renato Saltz was elected president of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) in 2015. He will take over his new position at the organization’s biennial meetings in Kyoto, Japan to be held October 23-27, 2016.
ISAPS is the only international society exclusively dedicated to the education of aesthetic surgery and cosmetic medicine exclusively to its member plastic surgeons. Founded in 1970, ISAPS membership includes over 2,400 of the world’s best-known and respected reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgeons in 94 countries on every continent. Its educational mission is truly international.
Background of ISAPS
The Society was founded to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas and knowledge for the advancement of aesthetic plastic surgery. In addition, ISAPS has become the gold standard for providing continuing education to its members in new procedures, techniques, and options in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. ISAPS serves as an important bridge among the many different national professional societies and organizations.
Prior to this position with ISAPS, Dr. Saltz was formerly the Chair of the ISAPS Education Council. He also has served as the 2009/10 President of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).
