Clear + Brilliant is a gentle laser that refreshes the skin from within. The laser energy is directed at target areas on the face where the laser energy creates thousands of microscopic holes in the upper layers of the skin. The body reacts to these perceived injuries by replacing the damaged skin with new, younger-looking tissue.

Dr. Saltz feels Clear + Brilliant addresses an unmet need in skincare, lying somewhere between over the counter or spa treatments and more aggressive treatments such as fractional laser skin resurfacing.

Clear + Brilliant is designed as a preventative sort of procedure, intended to head off many of the issues with facial aging before they show themselves. It is designed for younger patients who are looking to take control of the aging process.

These are the characteristics of a good candidate for Clear + Brilliant:

• You already have a skincare regimen that protects your skin from the sun and the environment.
• You like the way your skin looks today and are seeking to keep it looking that way for years, fending off premature aging.
• You want to boost the results of what you are currently doing for your skin.
• You don’t have the time (and aren’t really a good candidate) for aggressive skin resurfacing.

The first step in your Clear + Brilliant treatments will be to meet with one of our Spa Vitoria Master Estheticians to be sure Clear + Brilliant is a good option for you. Next, we apply topical numbing cream to your facial skin to alleviate any discomfort. When your skin is numbed, the Clear + Brilliant handpiece is moved across the target areas for approximately 15-20 minutes.

The laser energy creates thousands of microscopic punctures through the epidermis down into the skin’s second layer, the dermis. This will trigger the “wound response” you want, where the body builds new skin cells, remodels existing collagen in the area, and initiates the production of new collagen to “heal” the perceived wounds. In reality, the tiny punctures are fully healed in just a few hours.

To ensure the best results, Clear + Brilliant uses the patented Intelligent Optical Tracking™ System. This makes sure the handpiece maintains proper contact with your skin and provides uniform application to all the treatment areas.

The final step of Clear + Brilliant is to apply a topical serum or a biocellulose masque to your skin, depending on your unique needs.

Because Clear + Brilliant is meant as a sort of pre-damage skin treatment, each patient has different needs. At Spa Vitoria we tailor these treatments to each patient. For most patients, a series of between three and six sessions seems to be the most effective. Each treatment takes from 30-60 minutes. From there, occasional maintenance treatments are popular.

These are not painful. We apply topical numbing cream prior to your Clear + Brilliant session.

This is a very low-risk procedure. This is not an aggressive skin resurfacing treatment. It is sometimes referred to as “Baby Fraxel” because it is so easy to take. After your treatment, you may have some redness on the treatment areas, but this resolves usually within 12 hours or so. The day after your treatment, your skin will feel a little tight and slightly itchy, but this is completely normal and just your skin getting busy with the renewal process.

There is no downtime. This is an easy-to-take treatment. As mentioned, you’ll have some slight redness, and your skin will be a little tight for a couple of days. Simply apply a good hydrating cream and you’ll be good to go. Avoid the sun for a week or so and don’t exfoliate or use retinoids or peels on your skin for a week.
