ISAPS 2016 Statistics

Since Dr. Saltz is currently the president of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, it’s apropos that we detail the ISAPS’s recent release of statistics for 2016. As you would expect, demand for aesthetic procedures continues to grow, with a 9% increase in surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures in 2016.

Here are highlights of the ISAPS statistics.

On the non-surgical side, it’s no contest. Botox and other botulinum toxin brands were injected 4,627,752 times, a 7% increase over 2015.

What’s the fastest growing procedure?

Labiaplasty increased 45% over 2015 numbers. Next fastest growing were lower body lifts, upper body lifts, breast augmentation with fat transfer, and the butt lift.

What’s the difference between the sexes?

Women accounted for 86.2%, or 20,362,655 cosmetic procedures worldwide. For women, the five most popular procedures were breast augmentation, liposuction, eyelid surgery, abdominoplasty, and breast lift.
