Sylfirm X uses Regional Regeneration Radio Repeated Pulse (RP) microneedling to target and treat the abnormal vessels that can lead to melasma, rosacea, and other skin discolorations. With the help of many micro electrodes, an electromagnetic field of energy is created that can penetrate the dermal layer without damaging the tissue.

Because we’re using Sylfirm X to treat so many different skin issues, there isn’t a set number of treatments. Skin rejuvenation through the RF microneedling provides permanent increases in collagen in the dermis, but you must remember that with each passing year our bodies produce less and less collagen. So, the increases we initiate basically only stem the tide. That makes it a good idea to continue Sylfirm X treatments as an ongoing maintenance treatment twice a year.

For issues such as age spots or rosacea, a single treatment may be all you feel you need. Again, repeat treatments can expand your results.

Some visible tightening results show immediately, as the collagen remodels in response to the microneedles and RF energy. But the larger improvements come as the skin initiates production of new collagen to send to the treatment areas in the classic wound-healing mechanism. Most patients feel they really begin to see improvement in their skin at about 4 weeks. These improvements continue to build for 6 months to a year.

We apply topical numbing cream prior to your Sylfirm X RF Microneedling session. You can feel a slight warming sensation as the RF energy enters the dermis, but patients don’t find it to be painful.

Your skin can feel tight and a little sensitive. You can apply an ice pack to the area to calm this. The microscopic punctures break down your skin’s texture and initiate new skin cell and collagen production, but this also breaks down the skin’s sun protection. For at least six weeks after your Sylfirm X treatment, you need to protect your skin with SPF 30+ sunscreen and clothing.

For skin care, avoid harsh cleansers and scrubbing for a few days. Avoid any exfoliants for the same period. If it is possible, avoid applying makeup for 24 hours.

In traditional microneedling, the microneedles penetrate the epidermis down into the dermis, and this triggers the wound-healing response sought after in so many aesthetic treatments. But Sylfirm X adds radiofrequency energy, and this makes the difference. 

When the Sylfirm X microneedles penetrate the skin down into the dermis at the depth we’ve set (different areas of the face require different penetration depths), the system delivers the short pulses of radiofrequency energy directly into the dermis layer when the microneedles are at their maximum depth. This is important because the RF energy doesn’t have to pass through the outer epidermis, so the energy levels can be increased without fear of damaging the outer skin. 

How does this improve the skin? When RF energy enters the dermis, it converts instantly into heat energy. That’s the key because when the body senses heat in the dermis it believes a wound has occurred and it responds with a wound-healing mechanism.
