We are using endoscopic surgical methods whenever possible, using tissue sealants instead of sutures, and utilizing lymphatic drainage massage (LDM) to speed recovery times and ease recovery trauma.
Less Invasive Surgical Procedures
The surgical component of the Facial Aesthetic Package plays a key role in the overall results, patient recovery, and patient satisfaction. Modern minimally invasive surgical techniques such as endoscopy have decreased the incidence of complications and shortened recovery times. The results are comparable to traditional open techniques in every way.
Sealants Instead of Sutures
Using tissue sealants in lieu of traditional sutures (stitches) enhances the results of minimally invasive surgery by reducing the rate of complications, such as hematoma, seroma, bruising, and swelling. These adhesives promote healing and improved patient comfort when drains are not used and suture removal is not required.
Dermabond, a nonfibrin sealant, is used to glue incisions together, making scars far less conspicuous. Dr. Saltz and his team have replaced skin sutures with tissue sealants in visible scar locations such as the around the ear. Use of these glues also provides the opportunity for early camouflage makeup (applied by the Saltz Plastic Surgery and Saltz Spa Vitoria trained staff), facilitating a quick return to social activities.
