What is Laser Genesis?
We like to think of our Laser Genesis treatments as laser facials. Laser Genesis uses non-ablative Nd:YAG laser energy to penetrate the epidermis and enter the dermis, where the energy encourages new production of collagen. We use Laser Genesis to improve fine lines, redness, rosacea, and acne scarring, among other skin issues.
What skin issues can Laser Genesis improve?
Laser Genesis addresses a wide range of skin problems:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Excessive redness
- Uneven texture
- Large pores
- Acne scarring
- Age spots
Laser Genesis Before & After
What are the benefits of Laser Genesis?
Laser Genesis is a comfortable, noninvasive treatment that can be used as a monthly skin rejuvenation treatment to continually keep renewing collagen production and improving the skin. Or it can be used to target specific issues, such as rosacea flare-ups. That’s the beauty of this treatment. Our Spa Vitoria patients love that Laser Genesis is painless, delivering nothing more than a simple warming sensation to the face, all the while doing some real work to improve the skin.
Laser Genesis stimulates new collagen and fibroblast growth, and it speeds up the natural exfoliation process where the skin turns over old cells and replaces them with new, healthier cells.
“Dr. Saltz and his staff are amazing. They take the time to explain everything you need to know about your procedure and they make you feel very comfortable. They treat you like family. I highly recommend Saltz Plastic Surgery.”- S.R.
Where can Laser Genesis be used?
Who would be a good candidate for Laser Genesis treatments?
Laser Genesis is completely noninvasive. It works well with all skin types and tones. We all have areas with fine lines, acne scars, uneven textures, large pores, and other imperfections. Laser Genesis is great option for easy-to-take skin rejuvenation for anyone.
How does Laser Genesis work?
The Laser Genesis handpiece delivers its light wavelength down onto the targeted skin. The wavelength penetrates the epidermis, the skin’s outer layer, without damaging it. The patient only feels a slight warming of the outer skin. The energy enters the dermis, the skin’s second layer, where it instantly converts to heat. When the body senses heat in the dermis layer, it assumes there has been a wound.
It responds, predictably, with a “wound-healing response.” This involves remodeling existing collagen at the site, and more importantly, the initiation of the production of new collagen. Since collagen provides the structural framework for our skin, increased collagen firms the skin, erases wrinkles, improves texture, and increases the skin’s thickness. This occurs over the course of a few weeks after your Laser Genesis treatment.
“Dr. Saltz is wonderful, explains procedures in great detail and makes certain you’re satisfied with your results. I highly recommend him!”- J.D.
How many Laser Genesis treatments do you recommend?
For the best results, we recommend a series of Laser Genesis treatments. This allows your collagen production to continue to increase, slightly overlapping between sessions. We recommend 3-4 sessions, about 4 weeks apart. From there, maintenance treatments once or twice each year are a good idea.
When will I see results after Laser Genesis? Are they permanent?
Your results are not immediate, as your body needs to ramp up its collagen production in response to the perceived “wounds.” This production increase begins to show itself in about three weeks. The collagen increase continues for a period of months. Your results will fully show themselves in 2-3 months.
The collagen produced is, obviously, permanent. But your body continues to produce one additional percentage point less collagen every year after your 20th birthday, so that decline will continue. The boost provided by Laser Genesis stems that decline. Maintenance treatments over the long run can help mitigate your collagen loss.
Improvements made to acne scarring and fine lines are permanent.
Is there any downtime after Laser Genesis?
This isn’t any downtime after a Laser Genesis session. If your skin is prone to becoming red, you may have some slight redness across the treatment areas that lasts about an hour. But that’s it. You can go right back to work or your normal activities.
Is there any pain with a Laser Genesis treatment?
These treatments are painless; we don’t even need to apply any topical numbing agents beforehand. Our patients like the warm tingling feeling that accompanies these treatments.
