Juvéderm® Has Two Options for Your Lips

Why are my lips thinning?

First, every year after we have our 20^th birthday, our body produces one additional percentage point less collagen. That means by the time you’re 50, your body is producing a third less collagen. That matters because collagen provides the underlying support structure for our skin. Plus, our skin thins with the passing years. With less collagen and thinner skin, our skin sags and loses volume, and it develops creases and lines.

The lips don’t escape. They thin with the same collagen loss. Plus, they show vertical lip lines and other effects resulting from volume loss.

The entire line of Juvéderm^® dermal fillers focuses on replacing volume. Each filler, such as Juvéderm^® Volluma and Juvéderm^® Volbella, targets a specific areas. For the lips, Juvéderm^® has Juvéderm^® Ultra XC and Juvéderm^® Volbella XC.

• Juvéderm^® Ultra XC — Ultra XC is intended to add visible fullness and plumping to the lips. It can change thin lips into round, shapely lips, or it can return volume to lips that have thinned. Ultra was the first dermal filler approved for use specifically to plump the lips.
• Juvéderm^® Volbella XC — A couple years ago, Juvéderm^® added another option for adding volume to the lips, Volbella XC. Volbella, however, doesn’t add showy volume. It seeks to add subtle volume to the lips, adding shape and definition. It also fills vertical lip lines effectively.
