Everyone knows the body needs vitamins and minerals to operate. Most of them come from the foods we eat, but their amounts can vary depending on our diet. People take vitamin supplements to fill in the gaps, but much of their potency is lost when taken orally. The Vitamin Bar at Saltz Spa Vitoria is designed to provide vitamin- and medicine-infused hydration therapy intravenously under the supervision of a board-certified anesthesiologist.
John Myers, M.D. pioneered intravenous vitamin therapy (the Myers cocktail) more than 30 years ago. The Vitamin Bar has taken this original concept and brought it forward with a variety of different options targeted to various purposes and needs.
Our vitamin infusion includes magnesium, calcium, vitamin B12 (hydroxocobalamin), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin B5 (dexpanthenol), vitamin B complex, vitamin C, folic acid, and biotin. Intravenous therapy raises vitamin blood levels far more efficiently than oral therapy and avoids side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort.
Beyond meeting your body’s needs, vitamin therapy positively impacts immune function, energy levels, sleep habits, and mood. At Saltz Spa Vitoria, we’ve partnered with The Vitamin Bar in developing a menu of 10 various vitamin and mineral combinations that have proven highly effective when treating conditions such as altitude sickness, headaches, dehydration, jet lag, even the dreaded hangover!
Here’s our Vitamin Bar menu.
When you come in as a new Vitamin Bar patient, we first give you a physical exam and briefly go over your health history. Then we discuss the areas you are seeking to address. Maybe you’re sore after skiing, have jet lag, are being affected by Park City’s altitude, or just want help fighting off winter illnesses. Together we devise a customized treatment plan for you, and then our anesthesiologists intravenously deliver your Vitamin Bar selection. Following your therapy, a review and assessment of your experience will complete your visit with us.
